This Excel template is for tracking the inventory balances (# of units and $ value of units) for a single location / single entity. This is a macro-based data entry workbook. The user will have the ability to define the time-frame for which the cost of goods sold should be measured to account for changing prices over time. It will use the average cost of the time-frame defined.

Additionally, this template will take the data from the database and create monthly summaries of movement per SKU (# and $ value) and in aggregate the running monthly inventory balance is displayed in both # and %. The monthly revenue and cost of goods sold (leading to gross profit) is shown based on the aggregate data of all inventory movements. Note, inventory moving out is always considered a sale and inventory moving in is always considered a purchase. If inventory is moving out and it is just a transfer, then no price should be entered in the price/cost per unit slot. Finally, visualizations exist to show the running balance of inventory on a monthly basis for # and $ value.
