  • Short Description

Sometimes it works out that you can align your belief systems with your business endeavors. A recycling operation might be just what fits the bill. This recycling operation financial model lets the user plan up to 10 years of expected cash flow, including a final IRR and DCF Analysis, for a recycling business.

  • Full Description

The main thing that is modeled here is very simple. There is some kind of recyclable material that is acquired (and usually there is some cost to acquire / process this material). After processing, the material is then sold at some price. In order to properly model such activity, the assumptions are as follows: Inputs for up to 15 material types, the start month of those material types coming online, their average acquisition cost / processing cost per unit, average selling price per unit, and the expected sales per month over 10 years by material type. This financial model assumes the units acquired in a given month are also sold in the same month. The rest of the assumptions involve up to 50 slots for operating expenses (each with its own start month and monthly cost over time). Startup and CapEx schedules are separate. Everything aggregates into a monthly and annual pro forma detail that drives down to cash flow per period. I did some different formatting on the executive summary for this. The top section will show Internal Rate of Return of the project, Total Cash Returned, Years of operation, Yearly Net Cash, Capital Required, Net Cash Returned, Discount Rate, NPV, ROI Multiple, and Yearly ROI. 5 Visualizations included as well.
