Inventory management can be difficult, but this template was made to be very simple. The goal of it is to allow the user to enter in and out movements of inventory and then be able to see the current inventory level of each SKU. Additionally, there are date entries for each transaction and an automated monthly report will that shows the # of inventory coming and going as well as the value of inventory coming and going as well as the running inventory balance per all movements.

The data entry is really easy. The main ‘current state’ tab will be where unique SKUs are defined and the name will then be populated in the in / out tabs as a dropdown that references column A of the ‘current state’. Also, on the ‘current state’ tab all other fields that need to be statically defined for each SKU are input such as Description, starting balance, and reorder trigger. Every time you choose a SKU, the meta data will auto-populate so the only data entry required is the quantity, date, and for ‘in’ you can also define the cost per unit of each purchase. The template will tell you when a given inventory level of a SKU is getting below the defined safety stock and the row will automatically highlight. Note, the monthly report can show up to 14 years of data at once time if needed.
