  • Short Description

Starting a cleaning or janitorial service has fairly straight forward bottom-up assumptions for best financial analysis and forecasting. This model will allow for a 5 year monthly and annual pro forma creation as the inputs are entered for startup costs, revenue, and expenses. The final output is an IRR and cash flow requirement / return result.

  • Full Description

The revenue and cost assumptions are inter-connected when it comes to gross profit. The user will define each tranche of workers, their average hourly revenue they earn, start month, and average hours worked per month. There are up to 50 slots. For payroll of these cleaners, the expense is based on the amount of hours worked (already defined in revenue and automatically brought over from revenue) and their fully loaded hourly pay rate (you would include benefits and payroll taxes in this rate). The remaining model inputs include general overhead fixed costs and one-time startup costs. The outputs are a monthly and annual pro forma that drives down to EBITDA and cash flow as well as a high level P&L summary. There is a waterfall distribution based on if any financing was done through investors (the investor / owner cash distributions are based on these inputs). Finally, in order to properly evaluate the opportunity, there is an exit assumption in year 5 based on a multiple of year 5 revenues. This is to properly account for the terminal value. This model will work for any business that involves hourly workers providing a service and them generated revenue per hour based on what service they are providing.
